India emerging as key APAC growth hub for AI talent and energy security: Colliers Report

  • May 27, 2026

India is strengthening its position as a major Asia-Pacific growth hub for artificial intelligence (AI), talent availability and energy security, according to a recent Colliers report. The report highlighted that rising adoption of automation, analytics and AI-led business functions across sectors is accelerating India’s digital transformation. India’s AI market, currently valued at over Rs. 81,702 crore (US$ 9 billion) is projected to exceed Rs. 48.45 lakh crore (US$ 500 billion) in the coming decades, supported by increasing demand for large language models, cloud computing and advanced digital technologies. The report also stated that India continues to remain an attractive destination for global companies due to competitive rentals, lower operating costs and access to a large skilled workforce.

Colliers noted that India’s demographic advantage is emerging as a major strength amid workforce shortages in several developed economies. With nearly 18% of the global population and a median age of around 29 years, the country is positioned as a critical global talent hub for technology, engineering and AI-driven services. The report further underlined that growing investments in renewable energy, digital infrastructure and data centres are expected to strengthen India’s long-term economic resilience and energy security. Rising adoption of AI technologies, along with policy support and digitalisation initiatives, is also expected to drive demand for commercial real estate, technology infrastructure and innovation-led investments across the country.
